Biography of Ellie Byers

Ellie Byers is a career and job search counselor with over 20 years private practice experience. Ellie has counseled hundreds of clients who have been in the midst of a job/career transition either by choice or due to company downsizing. Client companies have included: Ben & Jerry’s, BF Goodrich, Gardener’s Supply, Central Vermont Public Service, Husky, Bombardier Capital, Springer-Miller Systems, Symquest, Lane Press, IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation, Journal of Light Construction, Eating Well Magazine, the Governor Kunin administration, and TMG Corporation. She has taught career planning courses for UVM, Champlain College, Burlington College, Trinity College, and Community College of Vermont. Ellie also assists aspiring entrepreneurs in identifying a business they’d like to start and putting together an effective business plan. In addition to providing career counseling and job search services, Ellie leads teambuilding programs in-house for company clients (most recently the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation and the Hartford Social Rehabilitative Services) and families using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Ellie also administers the MBTI to students to assist them in planning for future careers. Ellie holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Vermont and is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. She operates her business at The New Directions Studio at 20 West Canal St., Suite C3, Winooski, Vermont.
